Nottingham's community brass band — available to hire across the East Midlands

Hucknall & Linby Mining Community Brass is one of Nottingham's most active brass bands, formed in 2008 and competing at First Section level. Based in Hucknall, our players travel from across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands to perform at concerts, contests and events throughout the year.

We perform a varied programme - from classical pieces to contemporary arrangements - and are available to hire for weddings, corporate events, concerts, outdoor occasions and private events across Nottingham and the East Midlands.

We take our music seriously and have a strong contest record to show for it. If you play brass or percussion and are looking for an ambitious band with a good social scene, come along on a Thursday.

🎺 Musical Directors

Paul Whyley

Founder of the band and Musical Director since 2008. A former principal Eflat bass with Newstead Brass, Paul has been conducting since 2001 with appearances at the National Brass Band Championship Finals.

Chris Knapp

A music graduate of the University of Nottingham, Chris brings a wealth of creative talent to the band as a composer and arranger, shaping much of the music you'll hear us perform.
